Jaya Carter is an accomplished tutor and passionate advocate for women in STEM, with over seven years of experience in education. Her love for STEM was sparked during her childhood, when her parents encouraged her curiosity by enrolling her in STEM programs, workshops, and summer camps. These formative experiences not only cultivated her interest but also showed her the importance of creating accessible opportunities for young women to explore STEM fields. As a proud alumna of Howard University, where she earned her degree in Computer Information Systems, Jaya has firsthand experience navigating the challenges of a male-dominated field. From overcoming gender bias to finding her voice in technical spaces, she has drawn from these experiences to mentor and empower young women in their academic and professional journeys.

Through the All Girls’ Prep program, Jaya works to inspire confidence, curiosity, and resilience in her students. She creates a nurturing environment where young women can explore their potential, particularly in STEM subjects, standardized testing, and critical thinking. Many of her students have achieved significant milestones, from excelling in academics to developing a passion for STEM that mirrors her own. Jaya believes that education is a tool for breaking barriers and shaping future leaders. She is proud to be part of a program that uplifts young women, helping them see their value and abilities in a world that often underestimates them. For Jaya, All Girls’ Prep is more than a program—it’s a mission to empower the next generation of women in STEM and beyond.
