Math was never the obvious path for Diana. She chose it anyway.
After declaring a mathematics major at CU Boulder, knowing she'd have to work harder than everyone around her, Diana spent four years proving that grit and the right support can take you anywhere. She went to the math help lab every day, hired a tutor her first week, and earned her degree one hard-won point at a time. She graduated with degrees in both Mathematics and Education, then went on to earn a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction (Mathematics) from CU Boulder.
When she nearly dropped the program her sophomore year, a professor told her something she's carried ever since: "We need teachers like you." So she stayed. And she became one.
Diana began her teaching career in Boulder, Colorado, where families often thanked her for helping their daughters develop confidence in math and STEM. She taught internationally at a private school in Mexico, and back home, she led Adelante, a college access program for first-generation students. Working with those students activated something in her: a deep love for test prep and post-secondary planning, and a reinforced belief that education should empower and open doors for all learners.
Her commitment to that work was recognized in 2017 when she won CU Boulder's "The Best Should Teach" Award.
Diana brings something to this work that most math tutors can't: she knows exactly what it feels like to sit in a classroom and not get it. She knows what it takes to push through, to ask for help, and to come out the other side believing in yourself. Her ability to connect with students from all backgrounds allows them to feel safe, seen, and supported, and that's why they trust her so deeply. She's been where they are, and she's proof that the work pays off.
Her work with All Girls' Prep is a love letter to the women who paved the way for her: mentors, friends, and colleagues who work tirelessly to be seen and heard. When Megan, her college roommate, invited her to join AGP, Diana knew it was the perfect opportunity. As Owner and COO of both College Planning Partnerships and All Girls' Prep, she's building the kind of environment she once needed.
When Diana tells your daughter, "You can do this," she means it. Because she did it.
